About City Events

Our Story

City Events was born in 2015 out of a simple frustration: despite living in a vibrant metropolis, co-founders Alexia Morgan and James Chen kept missing incredible events happening right in their neighborhood. After one particularly disappointing weekend where they discovered they'd missed an underground art exhibition just blocks from their apartment, they decided enough was enough.

Starting with a simple newsletter sent to 50 friends, they began curating the best local happenings every weekend. Word spread quickly, and within six months, their subscriber list had grown to over 5,000 people. Recognizing the demand, they developed a prototype app that allowed users to discover, bookmark, and get reminders for events based on their interests and location.

By 2017, City Events had evolved into a comprehensive platform, connecting event organizers with attendees across the city. Today, we serve over 25 major cities worldwide, helping millions of people discover unforgettable experiences and creating a thriving marketplace for event creators of all sizes – from independent artists hosting gallery openings to major festival producers.
